Once the Scion of an unknown god, the mortal Wesir became the first king in Predynastic Egypt. At this time the Egyptians were barbarous cannibals and uncivilized. Osiris saw this and was greatly disturbed. Therefore, he went out among the people and taught them what to eat, the art of agriculture, how to worship the gods, and gave them laws. Osiris was Egypt's greatest king who ruled through kindness and persuasion. Having civilized Egypt, Osiris traveled to other lands, to teach other peoples what he taught the Egyptians. Osiris was set to bring about a Golden Age for the world, even having married the Great Mother in her guise as Isis, when he was killed by Set. Resurrected by Isis's magic for a night so she could conceive Horus, he become a god in the Underworld and continued his good work for mankind by providing a way for all men to have eternal happiness in the afterlife.

He still offers a Golden Age to man, through ascension to godhood and assimilation with himself. All one has to do is perform the correct rituals before and after death. Unfortunately most have been lost, and performing them after death requires some assistance from family or other well wishers. Needless to say that since the fall of Ancient Egypt the numbers of people becoming one with Osiris have fallen off a bit.
