He still offers a Golden Age to man, through ascension to godhood and assimilation with himself. All one has to do is perform the correct rituals before and after death. Unfortunately most have been lost, and performing them after death requires some assistance from family or other well wishers. Needless to say that since the fall of Ancient Egypt the numbers of people becoming one with Osiris have fallen off a bit.
Current Manifestations
Osiris is still dead and can not return to Earth as a living person, he can be communed withi and visited (with great difficulty) but can not manifest physically on Earth. When seen either in vision or in the Underworld he still appears as he once did; a green skinned Pharaoh wearing the crown of Upper Egypt, holding a crook and flail, partially wrapped for mummification. He still wears the traditional false goat hair beard (though on him its not really false it just looks like one)
Later guides the dead to the underworld weighs their heart.
