Players should have answers to all of the following:
- Character's Appearance
Height, weight, build, hair and eye color and style. Dress as it appears in Amber (a late medieval/Renaissance era). Colors (2-3), anything used as a badge or symbol.
- What Shadow did your character grow up in?
Yes you can invent a new shadow, or use one of the Known Shadows as long as you are aware of the history of that shadow.
- Who raised your character?
Unless you buy your character's parent (See Allies) it won't be your character's Amberite parent. Was it the other parent? Friends of the Amberite parent? How did they treat your character? Did your character know the real relationship of the people who raised him?
- When did your character walk the Pattern (or has he yet)?
Which one (Amber, Rebma, Tir na'Nogth)? Who allowed him to do so and why? What did he do immediately afterward? If he hasn't walked the Pattern yet be prepared to as soon as play starts, the family won't be allowing any pretenders to hang around and pretend they are Princes.
- How did the Black Road manifest in the shadow your character was in?
Was it stopped? If not how did he escape it? See the sample Shadows if you have no idea what I'm talking about.
- How did Ragnarok manifest in the shadow your character was in?
The end of the world and a rebirth did happen. What was it like? How did he survive?
- After Ragnarok did your character seek out Amber or stay where he was?
- How does he feel about the fact no one told him they were going to recreate the universe and possibly kill him in the process?
- Who should have inherited the throne rather than that sniveling kid Random?
- Who should inherit the throne if something horrible should happen to the rat fink Random?
- What kind of vices does your character have?
This will be important later for Drama Points.
- Favorite food? Drink? Companion(s)? Pets? Personal Item? Least favorite of the same?
- Describe your characters first love.
What happened to that person?
- Is the life of a shadowling valuable?
- How does your character feel about servants?
- What is a good revenge?
