Revised Logrus Revised Logrus Revised Logrus
The Logrus is an ever changing construct which stands on the edge of the Abyss at the heart of Chaos. It was created eons ago by the first King of Chaos and assailing it is the method by which the Lords of Chaos come into their power.

The Logrus is not something which is walked, like the Pattern. Instead it is a three-dimensional mass of writhing black tendrils which is assayed by studying it until one comes to understand they way it functions. Assailing the Logrus is not exclusive to a certain blood or family line, thousands have tried, even those from far out in shadow. Once the process has the begun the person assailing the Logrus falls into a state of apparent catatonia until they understand, are driven mad or die.

The length of time it takes to understand the Logrus depends on Psyche; those with Psyche below the minimum limit are driven mad. If the person trying to assay the Logrus does not have the minimum Endurance, then they die of exhaustion during the process. Even for those with the necessary attributes do not always survive the encounter. Many are driven mad. Those who fail often develop dementia, memory loss, permanent flashbacks/hallucinations, changes of natural form and loss of shape changing ability (usually followed by death in a few days) or debilitating phobias,

While there is no guarantee anyone will survive the attempt there are some factors which seem to contribute to success. Having a base form which is human seems to be a major factor, no true demon has ever successfully assailed the Logrus. Magical training also seems to make a difference, those who know both Sorcery and Conjuration do better than mundane.

Schools exist in the Courts which train the youth, in the techniques to successfully assailing the Logrus, but none make any guarantees. Of those who successfully master both Magic and Shape shifting, only 40% survive assailing the Logrus without permanent problems. Common mental problems for failed applicants include: dementia, memory loss, permanent flashbacks/hallucinations, changes of natural form and loss of shape changing ability (usually followed by death in a few days) or debilitating phobias,

Those who survive, and are fully functional and are left with no debilitating mental or physical disorders are recognized as Lords of Chaos, and can then learn real power.
